Chore Assigner

Two lists in, one rota out. Nobody has to volunteer, nobody has to be asked twice, and the washing up stops being a negotiation.

The rota

Press Assign

People and jobs

More jobs than people and the extras are shared out evenly, so nobody ends up with three while somebody has none.
Options

Even, not just random

The people are shuffled and then dealt round the jobs in turn, so with seven jobs and three people somebody gets three and the others get two — never five and one. The shuffle is what decides who gets the extra.

Turn on one job each and it stops as soon as everybody has one, which is what you want for a rota rather than a whole evening.

The awkward part, removed

The reason chores get argued about is that somebody has to do the asking. A drawn rota has no author, so there is nothing to push back against except luck.

Both lists stay in this browser and are remembered between visits.
