Random Fantasy Name

Names for people who do not exist, in three flavours: airy and long, short and hard, or dark and sharp.

The sound is the setting

The three kinds differ by which letters they are built from, not by a label bolted on afterwards. Long vowels and l, n, r read as airy; hard consonants and short syllables read as stone; k, z, v and x read as trouble.

The second part is an epithet rather than a surname, because that is how most fantasy naming actually works — someone of somewhere, or someone who did something.

Say it out loud before you keep it

A name that is fine on the page and impossible at a table is a name your players will shorten to one syllable by the second session.
