The conflict is already inside

A premise without trouble is a setting. Each of these contains something that cannot stay as it is, which is the only part of a story that has to be there before you start.

None of them names an ending. A premise that tells you how it finishes has already been written by somebody else.

Draw two and jam them together

Two premises at once is where the unexpected story lives. One is a plot; two is a plot that has to explain itself.
